"It is not asked of the people of the cross that they cease to put their trust in the triumph of the Crucified. What is asked is that they let the Crucified and not the bourgeois culture with which they are identified define his triumph."
- from "Lighten Our Darkness" by Douglas John Hall
Throughout its history, Lakeland University has been intentional about maintaining a close relationship with its founding church, now the United Church of Christ. Over the years, the University has attempted to do this by providing educational services to its church constituency in a number of innovative ways. Most recent among these have been the establishment of the Mission House Center. The Mission House Center is an ecumenical program center providing broadly based opportunities for continuing education, study, and reflection for clergy and laity.

The Mission House Center of Lakeland University, through its advisory Church Relations Board, offers a special opportunity for UCC ministers to relax, reflect and renew.
Clergy are invited to get away from routine pressures and hectic schedules and spend up to 10 days on the Lakeland University campus.
Participants are not expected to prepare or present written reports or to formally speak on campus, although involvement in classroom discussions and chapel services can be arranged.
Participating clergy will rest and enjoy campus housing, food, facilities and activities as our guest.
