1944

Richard Neumann celebrated 55 years of ministry at First Presbyterian Church of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., on March 7.

1952

Victor Carman, of Mason, Ohio, served as a school counselor in Jefferson, Wis., and Cincinnati, Ohio, for many years. Victor was recently awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award for Meritorious Service at the Ohio School Counselor Association annual meeting.

1958

John Nolan, of Brandon, Wis., and his wife celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary on January 28. He started Nolan Insurance Agency 45 years ago and is now retired. The Nolans have eight children, 25 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

1961

Karl Vercouteren, of The Dalles, Ore., was recently named The Dalles' "Volunteer of the Year" for 20 years as the Kiwanis Club Parade organizer and for his work with Habitat for Humanity and local history, music and religious organizations.

1966

Marti (Coombs) Miller writes to say that Lakeland friends from near and far met in Milwaukee in February to enjoy reminiscing about the Lakeland tales of the 1960's. Jim and Janet (Scholman) Bergmann `64 `68, Ken and Diana Whyte `65, Pete and Barbara Vercouteren `65, Bill and Dori (Fluhr) Larson `66 `69 and DeWitt and Nancy Everix `64 had such a good time they pledged to meet again soon. Karen Hoffman, of Two Rivers, is currently the four-year old kindergarten teacher at All Saints School in Denmark, Wis. Stan Zoller, of Buffalo Grove, Ill., has received his master journalism educator certification from the Journalism Education Association. He did his project on "Outreach Opportunities - Partnerships for Success." Zoller teaches journalism and English at Rolling Meadows High School where he also advises the school's award-winning newspaper. He speaks at conferences around the country on topics related to scholastic journalism.

1974

Wesley Barteck accepted a call from Grace Bible Church in Madison. His first Sunday with the new congregation was November 15, 2009.

1977

Sheree Marlow, of Milwaukee, has become the accounting/budget manager at Milwaukee County Parks after working 20 years with Boston Store's parent company (The Bon-Ton Stores). Email: sheree_marlow@sbcglobal.net

Steven DeKarske was recently appointed assistant vice president - senior sourcing analyst for Citibank North America Procurement at Citibank Center in Tampa, Fla.

1987

Wanda Veldman, of Pittsville, Wis., and her daughter established a new business in 2009 focused on spirituality. They produce worship stoles, prayer beads and sanctuary banners. As retreat leaders, they specialize in labyrinths and spiritual practices for deepening faith.

1992

Karen LeClaire, of Jacksonville, Fla., is currently a stay-at-home mom to her two daughters, Rachel and Marian.

1993

Mara Nack, of Cicero, Ill., is engaged to Anthony Grazzini `94. A wedding is planned for this June. The couple is expecting the birth of their first child in October.

Laure Ropson of Green Bay recently accepted a position as operations manager at Bank First in Kiel.

1996

James Robinson, of Green Bay, was appointed vice-president, business development, of the Green Bay Contract Manufacturing Division of Tufco Technologies, Inc.

1997

Caren Diedrich, of Sun Prairie, Wis., was re-elected to the Sun Prairie School Board this past April 6.

Jennifer (Hintz) Krueger, of Franklin, was honored with a Coach's Service Award at the Hall of Fame Banquet for 10 years of athletic service on May 8. Jennifer is currently the athletic director at Mahone Middle School in Kenosha. This award is sponsored by the Kenosha Athletic Scholarship Foundation. Email: jennyndirish@yahoo.com

Connie Russell received her National Evangelist License in November 2009 in Memphis, Tenn. She is founder/president of Abundant Life Ministries of Wisconsin and hosts two radio broadcasts (WGLB Milwaukee and WFPM Battle Creek, Mich.)

1998

Jessie Edwards, of Franklin, Wis., and Erin Griepentrog are engaged to be married. A July 17, 2010 wedding is planned.

1999

Greg Brey of Manitowoc and Amanda Bueter are engaged to be married. A September 11, 2010, wedding is planned.

2000

Joanne Enders, of Kiel, recently accepted a position at Bank First. Joanne joins the bank as a controller in the finance department.

Dale Kooyenga, of Brookfield, is running for the 14th District (suburban Milwaukee) seat in the Wisconsin State Assembly. He is running as a Republican. He is a certified public accountant for KPMG, a major international accounting firm, and recently returned from Iraq where he served as an officer in the U.S. Army. Dale and his wife, Jennifer, have two sons, Grant and Taylor.

Tonya (Jack) Schram and her husband, Kevin, welcomed a son, Elijah Steven Schram, on January 30, 2010.

2001

Jamie Arenz, of Valders, was been named the 2010 Lakeland College Athletic Alumnus of the Year. Jamie is currently the head boys' basketball coach at Kiel High School.

Joel Katte, of Elkhorn, has written "Milwaukee Brewers IQ: The Ultimate Test of True Fandom," which was published earlier this year by Black Mesa Publishing. Katte is a former English teacher and high school baseball coach currently working as an elementary school principal in Cudahy. He is married with three children.

Marcia Reinthaler, of Sheboygan, was elected to the Sheboygan Area School District Board of Education this past April. She is a former member of the Lakeland College Alumni Association Board of Directors. She is customer service manager for Kallista brand of Kohler Co.

2003

Steve Vollmer, of Madison, and his wife, PattiAnn, celebrated the birth of their first child, Gabriel Charles, on May 30. Steve is an online and print designer at Discover MediaWorks, Inc.

2004

Heidi Riechers, of Madison, and her husband, Jeff, have three young children: sons Zander and Xavier and daughter Lilianna. Heidi has her own accounting/tax practice.

2005

Wade Sicklinger, of Green Bay, and Jennifer Tielens Dart are engaged to be married. The couple is planning a Sept. 4, 2010, wedding in Luxemburg.

2006

John Holzschuh, of Combined Locks, Wis., is working for Plastic Products, Inc., of Neenah and he recently received his gunsmith certification.

Rodney Steffen, of Kiel, and Sara Tenpas are engaged. The couple is planning an Oct. 2, 2010, wedding in Sheboygan Falls.

2007

Dana Driessen, of Kaukauna, is in her third year teaching language arts at Wrightstown Middle School.

Ryan Holm, of Gladstone, Mich., is running for the Delta County Commission. Holm is a fourth grade teacher at James T. Jones Elementary School in his native Gladstone. He coaches football and girls' basketball at his alma mater, Gladstone High School.

Heather Wanish, of Colfax, Wis., serves as the Business & Accounting Chair at Globe University in Eau Claire. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in Organization and Management.

2008

Kelly Hopfinger and Matt Holm `09 are engaged and are planning a Sept. 4, 2010, wedding in Gladstone, Mich.

Kellie Kuznacic of Oak Creek and John Bushmaker are engaged. The couple is planning a June 5, 2010, wedding in Sheboygan Falls.

Sam Schroeder, of Sheboygan, and Abby Falkenthal are engaged. Sam is assistant men's soccer coach at Lakeland. The couple is planning an Aug. 7, 2010 wedding in Hustisford, Wis.

Carey (Lloyd) Setzer of Sheboygan married Josh Setzer on Nov. 7, 2009. The couple honeymooned in North Carolina and Florida.

Bridget Thomas, of Johnson Creek, was elected to the Village of Johnson Creek Board of Trustees this past April.

2009

Denise Barrientos, of Wisconsin Rapids, recently accepted a position as financial information assistant at Mid-State Technical College.

Tonya Liska, of Wrightstown, Wis., and her husband, Tyler, are the proud owners of TNT NatureScapes, a full service landscape and hardscape firm serving the greater Fox Valley area.

Gregory Weisheipl, of Papillion, Neb., accepted a new position as the Douglas County senior commercial property appraiser in Omaha.
