Kroeger, Mayo this week's Muskies of the Week

Jeremy Kroeger (So.-Villa Park, Ill.) and Becky Mayo (Sr.-Gladstone, Mich.) are the recipients of this week's Muskie of the Week award.

Kroeger received the honor after winning a pair of matches at 197 lbs. and helping the Muskie wrestling team to a pair of dual wins last weekend. He pinned Keith McLeod of the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in 2:00 to help Lakeland to a 29-22 win over the Titans. Kroeger then defeated Darren Faber of Wheaton (Ill.) College by a 10-6 score to help the Muskies to a 28-11 team win over the Thunder. Faber was an NCAA Division III national qualifier last year at 197 lbs.

Mayo, a 5-11 forward, gets the honor after three straight double-doubles last week in which she led the Muskies to three consecutive wins. She had 12 points and 11 rebounds in a win over Finlandia (Mich.) University, posted 17 points and 12 rebounds in a victory over Alma (Mich.) College, and finished with 23 points and 11 rebounds in the Muskies' win over Dominican (Ill.) University.

Mayo averaged 17.3 points, 11.3 rebounds, 1.7 blocked shots and 1.3 steals per game last week and for it was named the Northern Athletics Conference player of the week on Monday.
