Muskies shoot for outright NAC North title tonight vs. Marian

Athletics - posted on 2/12/2013

The Lakeland College men's basketball team will be playing for an outright Northern Athletics Conference North Division title, as well as the top seed in the upcoming NAC Tournament, when it hosts Marian University tonight at 7 p.m. at Woltzen Gymnasium.

The Muskies can clinch the No. 1 seed in the NAC tourney as well as homecourt advantage throughout the tournament as long as they are alive. Tonight also is Senior Night for four Muskie players-Germell Heard (Milwaukee, Wis.), Rylee Hernandez (St. Paul, Minn.), Jake Schwarz (Sheboygan, Wis.) and Erik Strzok (Thorp, Wis.).

Lakeland (19-5 overall, 12-3 NAC) already has clinched at least a tie for the NAC North title, its first division title since the NAC was formed in 2007-08. The Muskies could drop as low as the fourth seed in the conference tournament with a loss.

Marian also is playing for conference tourney positioning tonight. The Sabres (15-9 overall, 10-5 NAC) can move up to a seeding as high as fifth with a win, or as low as eighth with a loss.

Live video, audio and statistics of tonight's game will be available online at http://www.lakeland.edu/muskieslive.
