- ABOUT LAKELAND

The Lakeland College baseball team and track & field teams are seeing the effects of cold weather and snow already affect its schedule for the spring, with varsity and junior varsity contests being called off this week.
The Muskies' baseball doubleheader at Ripon College scheduled for Saturday has been postponed due to cold and snow-covered fields. The games have now been rescheduled for Wednesday, April 10 at Ripon, beginning at 1 p.m.
A pair of junior varsity dates this week have also been postponed due to weather. No makeup date for those games has been set at this time.
The Muskies recently returned from their spring break trip to Florida with a 4-5 record to open the season. Lakeland's next games currently scheduled are a doubleheader on Sunday against Cardinal Stritch University at noon in Milwaukee.
The Lakeland men's and women's outdoor track & field seasons also were scheduled to begin this weekend at the Sherman Lukuoski Invitational hosted by Ripon College. That event also has been canceled and will not be made up. The Muskies now will try to start their outdoor season on Saturday, April 6, at the Carroll University Invite in Waukesha.
