Marketing Major

Students in the marketing major are required to learn and utilize the skills of market analysis, demographic research, and short- and long-range planning in every course they complete. Some courses specifically emphasize market research and analysis, others focus on communicating market ideas and promotions, and still others focus on managing logistics and market services. Student coursework culminates with a comprehensive review and compilation of these studies through a formal out-of-class research project in Marketing Management (BUS 485), the marketing capstone class. In addition, students maintain an individual portfolio of their practice experiences, which includes an original advertising/promotion project they have created.

Guest speakers frequent the upper-level marketing courses and students are given the opportunity to network and interact with these professionals outside the classroom. This has been beneficial in assisting students with rèsumè preparation, interview skills and job search techniques.
