Muskies Get Non-Conference Win Against Viterbo

The Lakeland Muskies improved to 14-4 as they defeated Viterbo, 85-71, in La Crosse on Thursday evening.

Lakeland senior Germayne James tallied 24 points, while sophomore Kris Saiberlich added 20 on the evening. The two players combined for 10 3-point field goals with five of the 10 coming in a six minute stretch early in the game. Senior Nick Howard was the third player to score in double figures as he added 12 points.

The Muskies shot 56 percent from the field for the game, including 54 percent from behind the arc. Lakeland hit 14 3-pointers in the game and converted on six of their nine attempts in the second half. The Muskies defense held Viterbo to just 42 percent shooting on the evening.

Lakeland, 7-1 in Lake Michigan Conference play, returns to Sheboygan to face Wisconsin Lutheran in an LMC match on Saturday at 4:15 p.m.
