Muskies Muskies Finish Second At Lake Michigan Conference Tournament

The Lakeland College wrestling team took second place at the Lake Michigan Conference Championships on Friday falling to Concordia by one point, 102.5-101.5.

Senior Lee Sparks (197) and junior Mark Vanden Hoogen (Hwt) won the individual championship in their respective weight class. Sparks defeated Tyler Knutson of MSOE 6-4 and Vanden Hoogen won by default over junior Matt Benson, also of Lakeland College.

Lakeland had five other wrestlers make it to the championship round in freshman David Copp (125), junior Matt Priemsberger (149), freshman Jonas Flok (157), senior Tim Vallier (174) and sophomore Paul Hartt (184).
