Lakeland falls to LMC defending champ Wisconsin Lutheran

Lakeland played its final LMC match of the year without two if its regular players, losing to defending champion Wisconsin Lutheran 9-0. The one-sided result was due to the superior experience and play of Wisconsin Lutheran, who finished its LMC schedule undefeated. Lakeland finished its own regular season at 0-5.

For Lakeland, there were several positive signs. Lisa Hentges and Mary Stockman played well at #1 doubles, rallying from a 2-5 deficit to close within 6-7 before losing to the defending conference champions. New players Chizuru Masuda and Natsumi Kobayashi played well as a doubles team and in their singles matches.
