Neenah native Amanda Smith, a senior forward on the women's soccer team, is ranked nationally in two NCAA categories and closing in on a pair of school records.

Smith averages 1.45 goals per game, good for sixth in the country among Division III players. She is ranked 12th in the country in points per game with an average of 3.18.

Smith has 18 goals this season and now has 82 in her Lakeland career, six short of tying the school record. She has 196 career points, 12 short of the school record.

Last season as a junior, Smith was named Lake Michigan Conference Player of the Year. She is a three-time first team all-LMC honoree.

"Amanda is one of those special players who don't come around very often," Lakeland coach Marc Colwell said. "She has developed into one of the best goal scorers in the nation."
