Germayne James
Lakeland College senior guard, Germayne James, has been named The Lake Michigan Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week.
The Richmond, Ind., product averaged 16 points, four assists and three rebounds, while shooting 59 percent from the field in Lakeland's two conference victories last week. At Maranatha, James went 8-11 shooting scoring 20 points to lead the Muskies to an 85-56 victory. The guard than scored 12 points while tallying four assists in the Muskies 66-63 victory against MSOE to close out the regular season.
Lakeland captured the final LMC regular season title with their victory over Maranatha and became the first men's team in the LMC to win 20 games since the switch to the NCAA in 1997 with their 66-63 victory over MSOE.
Lakeland, the number one seed in the LMC Tournament, will host #8 Maranatha on Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
