Muskies' comeback attempt falls short

Despite a game-high 26 points from freshman Kris Saiberlich, the Lakeland men’s basketball team could not finish their comeback attempt, losing to Edgewood 81-73 on Saturday afternoon.
Down by 11 with 1:55 left, the Muskies scored six straight to cut the lead to five with 1:28 remaining but missed their next two three point attempts as Edgewood pulled away.
Saiberlich went 10 of 15 from the floor, 6 of 11 from behind the arc, in 35 minutes played.
Seth Cooper scored 25 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Eagles, while Gregory Blaska scored 22 points and also had 10 rebounds.
Ryan Hiir scored 15 points for Lakeland, Nick Zeck tallied a double-double with 11 points and a game-high 13 boards.
Lakeland travels to Chicago on Tuesday to face Illinois Institute of Technology at 7:00 p.m.
