Muskies Take On UW-Parkside Course
Athletics - posted on 10/9/2004
The Muskies traveled to the UW-Parkside course for todays cross country meet hosted by Carthage College. Again, the Muskies were unable to field a team, but individuals again made great strides.
Matt Forss was again the only competitor on the men's side for the Muskies, finishing with a time of 31:17, good for 40th.
On the women's side, the competitors ran a 6k race, which made things difficult for the Muskies. Penny Arentsen finished in 40th place with a time of 28:14. Kristen Beyer tabled a 28:25 time, good for 45th place. Angie Guell, who tripped and fell on some gravel on the course, finished in 61st place with a time of 32:15.
"This was a tough race to assess since our women ran a different length race than usual" said Coach Helgeson, "but over all they were all either at or fast than their mile splits so far this season. Everyone is continuing to work hard and I can’t wait for Conference for them to put it all together."
