Muskies Takes Down Wheaton, 33-13

The Lakeland Muskies improved to 3-2 overall with a 33-13 victory over Wheaton College on Thursday night in Wheaton, Ill.
"We did pretty well as a whole," said head coach Pete Rogers. "We had some close matches and our wrestlers were able to come out on top."
Seven wrestlers picked up wins at the dual. Lakeland senior Mark Vanden Hoogen, ranked eighth in the nation, pinned Chase Campbell in 4:52. The pin was his fourth pin in five matches. In the 184 division, junior Paul Hartt defeated Lars Skoglund on a technical fall, 20-3.
"Mark and Paul just continue to keep winning," said Rogers.
Also receiving a pin for Lakeland was sophomore Jonas Flok over Eugene Savenok just 4:57 into his match. Freshman Kory Theil had a great match as he defeated Chris Rud from Wheaton, 6-4. Also wrestling well for Lakeland was sophomore Cody Klopp who defeated Justin Tomal at the 165 division, 11-7. Sophomore Everett Wood had a decisive win over Dan Glenn, 12-2. Sophomore David Copp also picked a win on forfeit.
The Muskies will travel to Milwaukee, for the MSOE on DEC. 2nd before competing in a dual meet with MSOE and UW-Oshkosh at home on Dec. 9.
