Lakeland nets Volleyball Conference Player of Year

Lakeland College’s Heather Heberlein, a junior right side hitter, was named Lake Michigan Conference women’s volleyball Player of the Year, highlighting a strong showing by the Muskies on the all-LMC team.
Heberlein (Kiel) was joined on the first team by senior outside hitter Amy Lieske (Oshkosh) and junior setter Lana Neuman (Hortonville).
Honorable mention selections were senior middle hitter Leeann Hupfer (Westmont, Ill.) and junior defensive specialist Sarah Buechel (Fond du Lac).
The Muskies won their fourth straight LMC title with a 13-1 record, and also won the LMC Tournament for the third straight year to advance to the NCAA Division III Tournament.
