Zeck gains LMC Player of the Week
Athletics - posted on 11/30/2004
For the third time this month, Lakeland's Nick Zeck has been named by his conference as player of the week - although this time he's changed conferences and sports.
Zeck, twice named Illini-Badger Football Conference Defensive Player of the Week in November, shared men's basketball Player of the Week honors in the Lake Michigan Conference this week.
Edgewood junior Seth Cooper was also honored.
In a 70-59 loss to No. 1 UW-Stevens Point last Friday, Zeck scored 19 points on 6-of-9 shooting, including 7-of-7 from the foul line, and six rebounds.
The following night, the senior center from West Allis recorded his first double-double of the season scoring 17 points and grabbing 12 rebounds in a 64-60 win over UW-La Crosse. For the week he averaged 18.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game.
Zeck, a first team all-LMC honoree a year ago, was a preseason all-LMC pick this year. Lakeland returns to action Wednesday night at Trinity International (Ill.)
