Muskies Defeat Crusaders, 82-70

The Lakeland Muskies improved to 4-4 overall, 3-1 in the Northern Athletics Conference with an 82-70 victory over conference foe Maranatha Baptist on Saturday.

After exchanging the lead with Crusaders (3-4, 0-3 NAC) over the first 10 minutes of the contest, the Muskies grabbed the lead for good with 10 minutes left in the first half. Lakeland led 35-27 at halftime, and put the game away with a 20-point, 60-40 lead with just over eight minutes left.

The seniors led the way for the Muskies as Kris Saiberlich continued his big week by scoring 28 points to lead the way. Senior Aaron Regal had 22 points and also led the team with four assists, while senior David Hoerres added 11 points. Senior Danny Ehnert paced the Muskies on the boards with 11 rebounds.

The Muskies will continue NAC play on the road with Rockford on Saturday, Dec. 15, in Rockford, Ill. Game time is 4:15 p.m.
