Lakeland postpones pair of wrestling meets
Athletics - posted on 12/13/2004
Lakeland College has postponed two wrestling meets this week in response to the death of a member of the wrestling team Sunday night.
Benjamin Booher, a freshman from Oakfield, was killed when the truck he was driving lost control and rolled over on County Highway A. A passenger, freshman Justin Kundinger of Wausau, was hospitalized with injuries. Both students lived in Grosshuesch Hall, and Booher was a member of the Lakeland wrestling team.
Lakeland postponed a home meet Tuesday against North Central College and a home meet Wednesday against UW-Stevens Point.
“The wrestling team’s thoughts and prayers go out to Ben’s family at this very difficult time,” said Lakeland head wrestling coach Pete Rogers.
