Lakeland Goes 3-0 in Wrestling Action at Oshkosh

No. 30 Lakeland improved to 7-2 overall, 2-0 in the Northern Wrestling Association after defeating UW-Oshkosh, Wheaton College and Maranatha Baptist in competition at Oshkosh on Saturday.
 
The Muskies defeated UW-Oshkosh 24-19 and Wheaton 30-9 and then beat conference foe Maranatha.
 
Junior David Copp (125), sophomore Clint Harbord (149), junior Jonas Flok (157) and sophomore Jake Frias (165) all had multiple victories for the Muskies.
 
In the 125 division, Copp picked-up two wins on the day. He defeated the Titans' Nick Stetzer 13-7 and then pinned Wheaton's Ben Allen in 4:11 to come up victorious.
 
Harbord won a couple close contests in the 149 weight class. The sophomore defeated UW-Oshkosh's Derek Koenig, 9-8 and then went on to beat Jeff Conners, 6-5.
 
Flok had a stellar day earning three victories in 157 action. The junior pinned the Titans' Ian Sauer at 4:37 as well as his Maranatha opponent. He also picked up a 12-9 win against Wheaton's Eugene Savenok.
 
Frias went 2-1 in the 165 division. After suffering a 6-2 loss to UW-Oshkosh's Kevin Luedtke, Frias rebounded to defeat his Maranatha opponent as well as Wheaton's Jonathan Sesso, 5-3.
 
No. 2 Paul Hartt remained undefeated in the 197 division by pinning Wheaton's Matthew Griffiths in 6:35. He won on forfeits in his other two matches of the day.
 
Sophomore Adam Sutter also had another great day in the heavyweight division.  He pinned Wheaton's Chase Campbell in 1:43. Like Hartt, he won on forfeits in his other two matches of the day.
 
Junior Kory Theil (133) and freshman Gary Pieper also picked up wins on the day.
 
Lakeland will be in action again on Sunday, December 16 at the Gator Duals in Longwood, Fla.
