The Lakeland women’s basketball team will host Milwaukee School of Engineering to open Lake Michigan Conference tournament play Friday at 7 p.m.
The Muskies, 16-9 overall, finished second in the LMC and earned the tournament’s No. 2 seed. MSOE is the No. 7 seed.
Lakeland won both meetings with MSOE this season, a 51-42 win on the road and a 68-53 win at Lakeland.
Other first-round games Friday night include No. 1 Edgewood hosting No. 8 Alverno, No. 3 Marian hosting No. 6 Concordia and No. 4 Wisconsin Lutheran hosting No. 5 Maranatha Baptist.
If Lakeland wins Friday night, the Muskies will host the Marian/Concordia winner Saturday night at 7 p.m. in the tournament semifinals.
The championship game is Saturday, Feb. 27, at the home of the highest remaining seed at 7 p.m.
The tournament champion earns the LMC’s automatic bid to the NCAA Division III National Tournament. Lakeland is the defending tournament champion, and has won the tournament five of the last seven years.
