Athletics - posted on 2/16/2005
Lakeland College senior center Nick Zeck was named Lake Michigan Conference Player of the Week for the second time this season.
Zeck led the Muskies to a pair of conference wins last week, securing Lakeland's home game in the first round of LMC tournament Thursday night. He averaged 24.5 points and 14.5 rebounds per game while shooting 60 percent (18-of-30) from the floor.
In a 77-52 win over MSOE, Zeck scored 19 points and grabbed 15 rebounds, both game-highs. On Saturday, in a 79-58 victory at Maranatha Baptist, Zeck scored a season-high 30 points on 10-of-17 shooting and grabbed 14 boards. His eight double-doubles leads the LMC.
This is the fourth time Zeck has earned conference Player of the Week honors this season - twice in football and twice in basketball.
