Muskie Wrestlers Return to National Rankings to Claim No. 28 Spot

After taking nearly a two-month hiatus from the national team rankings, the Lakeland College wrestling team is ranked once again, this time securing the No. 28 spot in the latest Brute-Adidas National Wrestling Coaches Association Division III rankings, released on Tuesday, Feb. 12.

The Muskies have been catching the attention of many prominent wrestling teams around the nation, as the squad has compiled a 13-5-1 record and made a habit of finishing above perennially strong programs at many of its invites this season.

Senior Paul Hartt and sophomore Adam Sutter have also maintained their individual rankings from the previous poll, as Hartt is still ranked No. 3 in the 197-pound division while Sutter moved up to the No. 7 spot from No. 8 in the heavyweight division.

Hartt (Port Charlotte, Fla.), has compiled an amazing record of 30-1 to date. His most recent achievements are highlighted by winning the championship title in his division at the Pete Willson Invite held at Wheaton College on Feb. 2, where he swept the field with dominating scores.

Sutter (Gladstone, Mich.) sits at 31-3 this season, and also put forth a good showing at Wheaton, taking home second place in his division after falling in the championship match to Knox College's Jaran Rutledge, who is ranked No. 4 in the nation.

Hartt, Sutter and the rest of their teammates will look capture their second Northern Wrestling Association title in a row, as they travel to the NWA Tournament hosted by Maranatha Baptist Bible College on Saturday, Feb. 16. Meet start time is set for 10 a.m. in Watertown, Wis.
