The Lakeland College wrestling team placed eight wrestlers in the top six of their respective weight classes Saturday afternoon at the Al Hanke Invitational hosted by Elmhurst (Ill.) College.

Seniors Jake Frias (Oak Lawn, Ill.) and Adam Sutter (Gladstone, Mich.) each recorded second place victories for the Muskies. Lakeland finished the day in fourth place out of 14 teams with 84 team points.

Frias reached the finals at 165 pounds by defeating Jack Lewis of Elmhurst by a slim 6-5 decision. Earlier in the day he recorded wins of 12-3 against Miguel Luiz of Triton and 7-3 over Jon DiBona of Elmhurst. He was pinned in the finals against champion Mike Dace of Harper in 1:32.

Sutter scored a 10-0 win over Dustin Bies of Triton and a fall in 75 seconds against Ryan Hatten of Chicago to reach the 285 pound finals against Mark Corsello from Elmhurst. Sutter was forced to forfeit the match due to an injury sustained against Corsello, the nation's No. 1 heavyweight wrestler according to d3wrestle.com.

Ryan Renon finished third in the 174-pound division, defeating Jason Cleary of Elmhurst by a 17-6 decision in the third-place match.

Isaac Roberson picked up wins of 18-6 and 15-7 at 149 before his first loss of the day. He reached the third place match with a 7-6 win over Matt Hart of Chicago before losing 12-10 to Jake Narveson from MSOE to finish fourth.

Derek Flok also recorded a fourth place finish at 165, picking up two wins by fall in the process.

Chris Weber picked up a third fourth-place finish for the Muskies at 184 as he finished the day with a 2-2 record.

Ben Chapman (157) and Chris Collins (174) rounded out the Lakeland lineup with six-place finishes.

The Muskies return to the mat on Wednesday, Jan. 20, for their final home match of the season at 7 p.m. against Concordia, Wis. Frias, Sutter and Chapman will be recognized prior to the match as part of the Senior Night festivities.
