Students call for "White Out" at Tuesday's men's basketball game

Athletics - posted on 1/18/2010

Fans of the Lakeland men's basketball team are asked to wear white in an effort to create a "white-out" effect at Moose & Dona Woltzen Gymnasium at this Tuesday's game against Concordia, Wis.

The contest, which begins at 7 p.m., pits the Muskies against the Falcons, their Northern Athletics Conference North Division rival.

The effort is part of a Managing Athletic Facilities class taught by Jane Bouche, Lakeland's director of athletics.

Students who bring nine other friends, or "B.Y.O.B." (Bring Your Own Buddies), will receive a free Lakeland White-Out t-shirt and a chance to win cash and other prizes. Students should arrive in the Wehr Center lobby at 6:30 p.m. with their "teams" to claim their t-shirts.

To enter your "team," submit rosters to Karen Westley in the athletic department, Kaye Martin in student activities or April Arvan by 4 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 18.
