Lakeland wins final regular season home game

Junior Jack Ridgway and freshmen Tal Diekvoss and Stan McKenzie scored 15 points to lead the Lakeland College men's basketball team to a convincing 96-60 victory over Wisconsin Lutheran College in Northern Athletics Conference play on Senior Night at the Moose & Dona Woltzen Gym.
The Muskies (15-9, 10-6) got off to a slow start and trailed the Warriors by nine in the first five minutes of action. Lakeland went on an 11-0 run as McKenzie (Racine, Wis.) made a layup to take a one point lead at the 11:23 mark. The momentum never relinquished as the Muskies took a 42-28 lead heading into the locker room.
In the second half, Lakeland took complete control of the game and went up by 43 points to secure the last regular season home game.
Defensively, the Muskies held WLC to just 31.5 percent from the floor and a mere 46.2 percent from the charity stripe, while displaying its own shooting abilities. Lakeland shot 57.6 percent from the field and 57.9 percent from behind the arc and scored 21 points off the Warriors' turnovers.
Junior Josh Regal (Suring, Wis.) scored 14 points and added nine assists after being honored before tipoff for scoring 1,000 points. He is the 36th men's basketball player to earn the feat. See Josh being honored for his accomplishment

James Oshkeshequoam (Shawano, Wis.) chipped in 14 points to go along with three rebounds and assists. Freshman Justin Ward (Wisconsin Dells, Wis.) added 11 points and six rebounds. McKenzie ended the night with eight rebounds to lead the Muskies.

Lakeland returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 19 as they travel to Aurora, Ill. to take on Aurora University in the NAC Challenge Game. Game time is to be determined.
