WHEATON, Ill.- Senior Isaac Roberson and sophomore Ryan Renon took fourth and seventh place at 157 and 165, respectively at the Pete Wilson Invite on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 28-29 in Wheaton, Ill.
After a first round bye, Roberson had the 7-5 decision over Steve Mena of Olivet College and went on to beat the Milwaukee School of Engineering's Virgil Pope 5-2. In the semi-finals, Roberson lost the 10-0 decision to eventual champion, Elias Larson of Trine.
Renon took seventh place after pinning Josh Lowy of the University of Chicago in 6:59. He then earned the 13-5 decision over Shelby Mappes of Indianapolis. Renon also pinned Quint Eno of Elizabeth in 3:09 before losing 8-4 to Jordan Graham of Augustana. In the seventh-place match, Renon got the 7-5 decision over Jake Moore of Wabash.
The Muskies return to action as they host MSOE on Friday, Feb. 4. Start time is scheduled for 7 p.m. in the Todd Wehr Center Fieldhouse.
