This week the Lakeland College women's basketball team begins Northern Athletics Conference play, as they travel to Milwaukee, Wis., on Saturday, Nov. 26 to face Alverno College at 2 p.m.

Last season, the Muskies split the season series with the Inferno, winning at home and losing on the road. In Milwaukee last season, Lakeland lost 56-53 on a last second three-point shot. The Muskies shot just 30 percent from the field while the Inferno shot 43.5 percent, including a 52 percent second half. Junior Becky Mayo returns as the team's leading scorer from that game, as she scored eight points and grabbed three rebounds.

This year, Lakeland will look for Mayo and sophomore Jessica Genke to continue their impressive starts to the season, as well as contributions from the outside.
