Gordon sets record, Grimsrud places third in two events

The Lakeland College men's and women's track and field teams competed in the Northern Athletics Conference Outdoor Championships on Saturday in Lisle, Ill.

Junior Vashia Gordon (Green Bay, Wis.) stole the show for the Muskies, scoring 10 of the women's teams 13 points as she set a new conference championship record high jump with a height of 1.53 meters.

Freshman Danielle Holzer (Plymouth, Wis.) added three points with a fifth place finish in the pole vault with a height of 2.73 meters.

The men's team scored 14 points, led by a pair of third place finishes by freshman Dylan Grimsrud (Sheboygan, Wis.) who score six points in both the 400 and 800 meter runs, with times of 51.05 seconds and one minute, 58.24 seconds.

The men's 400 meter relay team, comprised of Aaron Ash (Sturgeon Bay, Wis.), Yaphay Harvey (Milwaukee, Wis.), Patrick Johnson (Pontiac, Mich.), and James Parker (Milwaukee, Wis.), took seventh place to score two more points.
