Ward named NAC Player of the Week

Sophomore Justin Ward has been named Northern Athletics Conference men's basketball student-athlete of the week.

Ward, a native of Wisconsin Dells, Wis., garnered the award after averaging 26.3 points per game, 11.7 rebounds and 3.6 blocks. He hit 60.7 percent from the field on 34-for-56 shooting to help lead Lakeland to a 2-1 record in league play last week.

The 6-foot-10 forward had two double-doubles last week, including a game-high 29 points and a career-high 18 rebounds in the Muskies' 92-79 win over Aurora University on Jan. 21, and 28 points and 10 rebounds in a heartbreaking loss to Concordia University Wisconsin on Jan. 17.

Ward leads the NAC in blocks per game (2.3) and is tied for 16th in the nation. He is second in the NAC in points (297), is third in points per game (17.5), is sixth in free throw percentage (79.0) and field goal percentage (56.3) and is seventh in rebounds per game (7.1).
