The Lakeland College men's basketball team concludes its regular season this week, beginning with a road trip on Tuesday to take on Wisconsin Lutheran College in Milwaukee.
On Saturday, the 17-6 Muskies will participate in the Northern Athletics Conference Challenge Game with their opponent and location yet to be determined. Lakeland, the third-place finisher in the NAC North, will take on the third-place finisher in the South Division. If Lakeland hosts, tipoff is 4 p.m. for a single game, or 5 and 7:15 p.m. for a double header with the women's team. The final pairings, locations and time will be determined later this week.
The Muskies are coming off a 1-1 mark in play last week. The team suffered a tough 106-102 double overtime loss to first-place Concordia University Wisconsin on Feb. 8, but bounced back nicely in a 91-65 win over Marian University on Feb. 11. Junior Jake Schwarz and sophomore Justin Ward led the team with two double-double performances.
In the most recent statistical report released by the NCAA, Lakeland is fifth in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.40), tied for seventh in 3-point field goals made per game (9.9), eighth in scoring offense (89.3 ppg), 28th in free throw percentage (74.3) and 31st in turnovers per game (11.9) and 3-point field goal percentage (38.6).
