Hannah Landgraf (Sr.-Elkhart Lake, Wis.) and Liz Pritzl (Jr.-Cedar Grove, Wis.) both recorded hat tricks in the same game and the Lakeland College women's soccer team rolled to an 8-0 win over Rockford College in a Northern Athletics Conference match Saturday.
The Muskies dominated throughout, outshooting the Regents 40-3 and improving to 2-3 overall on the season and 2-0 in the NAC. Rockford remained winless at 0-5 overall and 0-3 in conference play.
Lakeland blew the match open with four goals in just over 11 minutes late in the first half. Kelly Jens (Fr.-Sheboygan Falls, Wis.) scored the opening goal for the Muskies just 4:49 into the match for her first goal of the season, but the match remained close until Pritzl scored twice in a span of 5:21, the second goal coming off a redirection of a corner kick by Erin Regner (So.-Milwaukee, Wis.) to make it 3-0 in the 35th minute.
Landgraf then scored twice in a span of 3:29, with her second goal coming with 5:03 left in the half to give the Muskies a 5-0 lead. The lead remained that way until 1:19 into the second half when Landgraf scored her hat trick with a goal assisted by Brooke Schallar (So.-Howards Grove, Wis.) to make the score 6-0.
Pritzl then reached her hat trick in the 59th minute with an unassisted goal, and Landgraf tacked on one more goal at 67:45 of the match for her fourth goal and the final goal of the match.
Landgraf finished with 11 shots in the match, nine on goal, with Schallar taking nine shots (three on goal) and Pritzl seven shots (six on goal). Krystina Cook (So.-Des Plaines, Ill.) added four shots.
Brittni Peterson (So.-Elmwood, Wis.) played the first half in goal for Lakeland and made one save before giving way to freshman Ali Thompson (Plymouth, Wis.) for the second half, and the newcomer made two saves in her Muskie debut.
Jessica Bjoerning made 10 saves for Rockford. Bridgette Johnson led the Regents offensively with two of the team's three shots.
