Lakeland falls to Florida in three tough sets at Hoosier-Illini tourney

The Lakeland College men's volleyball team saw a good showing at the Hoosier-Illini Tournament come to an end with a tough three-set loss to Florida in the championship Gold Bracket Sunday morning in Bloomington, Ind.

The Muskies won a long first set before losing 25-27, 26-24, 15-13 to the Gators, as two of three sets went past 25. Lakeland finished 3-2 at the tournament and tied for ninth of 30 teams competing in the tournament.

UW-Oshkosh finished as the tournament champion, defeating UW-Milwaukee 25-16, 25-21 in the championship.

Lakeland next will compete in the MIVA Midwest 10 Qualifier event on Saturday in DeKalb, Ill., hosted by Northern Illinois University.
