MILWAUKEE - Jeremy Kroeger (So.-Villa Park, Ill.) won both of his matches and the Lakeland College wrestling team won a pair of dual meets at the MSOE Duals hosted by Milwaukee School of Engineering on Saturday.
The Muskies defeated the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh 29-22 and then defeated Wheaton (Ill.) College 28-11, sweeping its two team competitions on the day. Lakeland improved to 2-1 in dual meets this season.
The Muskies won a tough dual against UW-Oshkosh by recording three pins and a win by technical fall to go along with a forfeit win. Kroeger recorded a pin at 197 lbs., defeating Keith McLeod in 2:00, while Marcus McCauley (Fr.-Hillpoint, Wis.) and James Parker (Jr.-Milwaukee, Wis.) also earned pins. McCauley defeated Hunter Mulock in 2:30 at 141 lbs., while Parker won over Mason McMullen at 149 lbs. in 3:45.
Matthew Weber (So.-Lockport, Ill.) added a win at 165 lbs., defeating Ben Frieler by technical fall in 6:39. The Muskies added a final win by forfeit at 125 lbs. for Alec Noa (Fr.-Westmont, Ill.) for their final six points.
Lakeland also won six of nine matches against Wheaton, though all were competitive and went the distance. Noa recorded a 6-0 win over Tom Foy at 125 lbs., while Eduardo Orihuela (So.-Menominee, Mich.) and Parker won by forfeit at 133 lbs. and 141 lbs., respectively.
Jacob Maechtle (So.-Port Washington, Wis.) won a 21-14 decision over Isaac Bray at 157 lbs., and Kroeger defeated Darren Faber 10-6 at 197 lbs. The Muskies also added a win at Heavyweight, where Andy Crivellone (So.-Oak Lawn, Ill.) defeated Kyle Patton 6-1.
Lakeland will compete in two more dual meets on Saturday when it faces St. John's (Minn.) University and the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in duals hosted at Concordia University Wisconsin in Mequon.
