The Lakeland coaching staff is excited to be hosting the 2012 Fundamental Basketball Camps and is looking forward to teaching your athlete the skills necessary to compete in basketball in a fun and educational manner. The camp philosophy is to provide solid fundamental basketball skills in a relaxed atmosphere. We will teach techniques that are vital to the athlete in reaching their fullest potential both on and off the court.
Each session is designed to ensure that the campers enjoy their time while gaining a valuable learning experience. Coaches will actively teach athletes all the techniques used at Lakeland College.
Each camper will receive instruction from the Lakeland College coaching staff in all fundamental skill sets of basketball. There will be group and individual instruction including shooting form instruction from college players and coaches. Each camper will receive a camp T-shirt. There will also be daily contests and awards.
The Super Hoopers Basketball Camp will stress offensive fundamentals from all skill sets: ball handling, individual offensive skills, shooting and playing without the ball. Team play will be emphasized in all game situations. To aid in implementing these techniques, a variety of instruction will be used (games, contests and video work). Each camper will receive instruction from current Lakeland College coaches and players.
Since the game of basketball is generally over coached and under taught, it is important for every player to develop a good skill set. With this in mind, the Elite Skills Camp will focus on making you a better basketball player. Sessions will include advanced fundamental work focusing on ball handling, finishing, shooting, and moving without the basketball. The camp will also include segments that focus on the "must haves" for successful team play on the offensive and defensive end.
