Muskie Men Drop Consolation Match To Transylvania

A day after losing a tough game to DePauw University, the Muskies dropped the
Consolation game of the Tip-Off Tournament to host Transylvania on Saturday,
79-64.
Riley O'Neal led the Pioneers to victory with 27 points, including five of the team's 10 three-pointers. Bryan Howard added another 14 points and 7 rebounds to the Pioneer attack.
The Muskies were led by Cory Nickel, who played all but one minute of the game, with 17 points. Junior guard Ryan Hiir added 16 points and seven rebounds, and Eric Wilbee contributed 10 points and 5 rebounds.
Overall, the Muskies were hurt by frigid shooting in the second half, 30.3 percent from the field and just 20 percent behind the arc.
Morten Smiedowicz, the star for the Muskies in Friday's opening round game, played less than five minutes in the game after being ejected for a flagrant technical foul.
The Muskies dropped to 0-2 on the season, but played respectively against the top teams in the country. They travel to Lake Forest on Tuesday, November 25th to try to rebound from the tough start. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
