STEVENS POINT, Wis. - Alec Redlich (So.-Wauwatosa, Wis.) tallied 13 kills and the Lakeland College men's volleyball team scored an easy three-set win over UW-Stevens Point Tuesday night in Wisconsin Volleyball Conference play.
The Muskies defeated the Pointers 25-21, 25-10, 25-20, to improve to 15-10 overall this season. Lakeland also is now 7-4 and in third place in the WVC, while UWSP dropped to 0-10 in the conference.
Brett Kaczmarek (Jr.-Kenosha, Wis.) chipped in eight kills and Andrew Bradley (Sr.-Woodstock, Ill.) added six kills. Dayton Erickson (So.-Trevor, Wis.) led the team with 18 assists and Jeremy Bolnius (So.-Roselle, Ill.) paced the team with nine digs.
The Muskies also competed this past Saturday at the MIVA Midwest 10 qualifier event in DeKalb, Ill. Lakeland finished 3-1 on the day and placed third in the tourney after a win over Iowa State, two wins over host school Northern Illinois, and a loss to UW-Oshkosh.
Redlich led the team with 44 kills on the day and also tied Cole Aiazzi (So.-Yerington, Nev.) for the team lead in digs with 25. Kaczmarek added 27 kills, Erickson set the offense with 85 assists, and Matt Bilinski (Jr.-Batavia, Ill.) led the team with seven blocks.
The Muskies are in action Friday night with another WVC match against UW-La Crosse on the road at 7:30 p.m. in La Crosse.
