Alverno is the team with the nickname Inferno, but it was the Lakeland College
Women's Basketball Team who was on fire Tuesday night with an 82-31 victory.
The Muskies' offense was led by Aubri Rote, who led all scorers with 18 points. Renee Steinert scored 16, while Jenna Boehm pitched in with 12 points and eight rebounds.
Lakeland's defense was just as good, forcing 30 Alverno turnovers, and out-rebounding the Inferno, 41-20.
Overall, the Muskies shot 44 percent from the field in the game, while Alverno was just 30 percent from the field.
LaShanda Wynn led the Inferno with eight points in the losing effort.
The win improved the Muskies to 6-3 on the season and extended their winning
streak to four games. Their next game will be at the Clarke College Holiday
Tournament against Millikin University at 1 p.m. on Dec. 27th.
