Lakeland Women Fall To Millikin In Holiday Tournament Opener

The Lakeland College Women's Basketball Team dropped their opening round game verses Millikin College 65-54 Saturday in the opening round of the Clarke College Holiday Basketball Tournament.

Lakeland had a cold shooting night overall, managing just 35.7 percent from the floor for the difference.

Renee Steinert led Lakeland with 15 points and Kristi Thill added 12, including 3 three-pointers to keep the game close. But the Muskies could not overcome Karen Olson's 21 points and Laura Zimmerman's 19 for Millikin.

Millikin moved to an impressive 6-1 overall while Lakeland dropped to 6-4. Lakeland will now play on Monday at 9:30 am against Mount Mary, who lost 112-21 to Clarke College on Saturday.
