Auditions

To determine ensemble placement, all campers participate in auditions on the first day of camp. Each camper should prepare for the auditions so they can best demonstrate their talent, which in turn will help us place them appropriately.

Audition guidelines are listed below:

Choir Band & Orchestra Piano
  • scales to determine range
  • solo from WSMA list or any other source; you may be asked to sing "America"
  • piano accompaniment will be provided by the camp
  • scales that you already know
  • solo from WSMA list or equivalent; memorization not required
  • sight-reading
  • demonstrate technique that you already know (scales, arpeggios, and/or Hanon)
  • solo piece of your choice; memorization preferred but not required
  • sight-reading

Campers are responsible for obtaining their own audition music. Check with your music teacher or local music store for assistance.
