Theatre Camp
July 11-17, 2010 (tentatively)
A new theatre camp will begin in the Summer of 2010 at Lakeland College for students entering 9th grade through those entering college. This overnight camp begins on Sunday at noon and runs through the following Saturday mid-day. There will be a public performance Friday night as well as a performance for families on Saturday morning. Daily classes in acting, singing, and dancing will focus on a musical revue with famous musical theatre scenes and production numbers. Performers will also help on scenery and costumes. Students may also emphasize in technical theatre and design, spending the week learning about scenery, lighting, or costuming.
Lakeland faculty will teach and direct: Charlie Krebs (theatre), Janet Herrick (voice), Russell Pettitt (pit), and Jessica Mueller (choreography) along with counselors who will serve as assistant directors, vocal coaches, dance captains, and technical coordinators. 2010 Music Campers will receive a 25% discount on Theatre Camp.
