Summer Intern Housing Agreement

2024 intern housing information

Lakeland University has agreed to provide its residence hall facilities A.M. Krueger to Interns starting January 1, 2024. Interns must fill out the application provided with the desired length of stay. If an Intern chooses to change the date range of the application, those changes must take place within seven (7) days of arrival.

The housing agreement is between the "Intern" sponsored by Kohler Company and Lakeland University. The undersigned, hereafter referred to as "Intern," and Lakeland University, hereafter referred to as the "University,” agree to the following fees and conditions regarding the "Intern's" stay at "University.”

The Intern acknowledges that the housing provided is dormitory style. The selection is a double room with a shared kitchenette on the 1st floor and two shared gender-identified bathroom facilities on each floor. Linens, consisting of bed linens, towels, washcloths, and pillows, are not provided. Rooms are equipped with free Wi-Fi service. Rooms do not have phones. Interns may use the University's fitness center during its operational hours, wellness center, Daily Grind, Muskie Mart, and Muskie Grill during operational hours.

  • Check-In Time is between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. on the day of arrival. Interns should contact the Department of Residence life at 920-207-2279.
  • Check-Out Time is no later than 6:00 p.m. Check-Out must be prearranged at least 3 full business days. A residence hall staff member will come to the room to check out the occupant.

It is the intention of the University to house Interns with other Interns, though depending upon enrollment or summer programs, students or other guests may occupy other rooms in the building. Reservations for 2024 will be taken until May 1, 2024; after that date, the University cannot guarantee room availability.

Room Rates

Rates for housing are as follows:

Double Room with a roommate $100.00 per week per person

Double Room as a single without a roommate $150.00 a week per person

Early arrivals will be charged the current room rate selected. A $200.00 non-refundable deposit to Lakeland University at the time of application is required to process the application. No rooms will be assigned nor keys obtained without receipt of the $200 non-refundable deposit. Interns who pay their deposit within three days of moving in are required to provide proof of deposit payment in the form of the deposit receipt. Each Intern is required to complete and sign the housing contract agreeing to its financial obligations and adherence to the University's policies and procedures. A $200.00 non-refundable deposit to Lakeland University at the time of application is required to process the application. Cancellation prior to May 1, 2024 will result in a refund of the deposit. The Intern is responsible for any and all damages done to University property. Any damage charges will be itemized and applied to the interns account as well as inform your employer of such charges. Interns have the ability to make weekly payments or schedule payments every three weeks. Provisions for alternative housing will be made by the University if building maintenance requires relocation.

  1. The Intern will use and occupy the facilities for the exclusive purpose of residential living at the University while participating in an internship at Kohler Company. The intern will conform to and comply with all applicable municipal, county, state, and federal ordinances, laws, rules and regulations in using the facilities, and will not use the facilities so as to create any nuisance. The Intern shall comply with rules of conduct and safety promulgated by the University.
  2. The University reserves the right to have University officials enter any portion of the premises used by the Intern and eject any objectionable person or persons from University property.
  3. The Intern agrees not to deface University premises in any way such as by driving nails or screws into walls, marking or painting any surface, or making any alterations to any doors or windows, etc.
  4. The Intern agrees to pay any and all damages to University property due to the actions of the intern or individuals associated with the intern.
  5. The Intern agrees not to assign its rights to use University property to any other group or individual.
  6. This agreement will bind both the Intern and the University to the contractual tenets contained herein for housing.
  7. This agreement will bind both the Intern and the University and, except as above provided may be cancelled by either party only upon the giving of written notice at seven (7) days prior to the date of the occupancy or termination.
