Lakeland College

Orientation

Welcome to Lakeland College. This orientation program serves to help ease the transition for the newest members of the Lakeland College community. We warmly welcome both students and their families to learn more about what we have to offer!

Lakeland offers two summer Orientation sessions from June 13-14 and from July 21-22. Along with these we offer fall orientation from August 21-24.

For more information, contact Steve Boucher - Graduate Assistant for Summer Orientation at 920-565-1235.

Brief Overview

Orientation will include many different activities and events to help you become more familiar with campus, as well as to introduce you to the Lakeland College staff and other new students and families. You will hear from current students (orientation leaders) about their Lakeland experience and will have the opportunity to ask questions about college life. Workshops and small group sessions will provide you with information to assist you in your transition to college and ensure that you have a great experience. Special sessions have been designed for parents and families, so feel free to bring them along.

Lodging/housing

Students who attend the summer orientation program will stay on campus in a traditional residence hall and will be assigned a roommate for the evening. Through this experience, you will gain firsthand knowledge of what it is like to be a student at Lakeland College. Plus, it is a great way for you to have fun and get to know other new students!

There are several lodging options available for families who will be attending orientation with their student. The following locations are close to campus (20 minute drive) and offer a Lakeland College room rate. Be sure to let them know you are a Lakeland orientation guest when reserving a room and it is best to book in advance.

What to bring?

Participants will be spending the night in a traditional residence hall. Bedding (pillow, sheet and blanket) is provided. Participants must bring all toiletries and a fan is encouraged. Since the Wisconsin weather can be unpredictable we suggest packing a hoodie, also those wanting to participate in open gym go ahead and pack some gym cloths. Session materials, including a complete schedule, will be distributed during check-in starting at 1 p.m. on Day One.

Fall Orientation

Lakeland College looks forward to welcoming new first year students to campus on Thursday August 21, 2014. Check-in for the Residence Halls begins at 8 a.m. Orientation weekend is comprised of several activities coordinated by our Student Activities & Orientation Program Office. These events are designed to introduce new students to each other, the campus and life in the Lakeland College community in a real and meaningful way.
