Academics - posted on 3/27/2007
The Lakeland College Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) team competed at the Midwest regional competition at Chicago's McCormick Center in March against 44 other Midwestern college and university teams.
Lakeland earned first runner up in its division, just missing the opportunity to advance to the national competition in Dallas, Texas. UW-Madison was the league champion (with a team of 135 student members).
Lakeland's finish was an improvement on last season, earning the team a trophy and positive comments from the panel of corporate executive judges. The presentation was made by Lakeland students Kayla Ehlen, Christy Jaeger, Barkha Limbu, Ashley Pfeffer and Cortni Jablenski.
