Terres, Gordon are Muskies of the Week

Lakeland College athletes Eddie Terres (Fr.-Escanaba, Mich.) and Vashia Gordon (Sr.-Green Bay, Wis.) have been named this week's Muskies of the Week.

Terres receives the honor for the first time in his Lakeland wrestling career after winning the Northern Wrestling Association title at 184 lbs. in Saturday NWA Tournament. He defeated Jesse Gjefle of Maranatha Baptist in the semifinals via a 4-2 decision and then won the title with a double-overtime win over John Hinson of Concordia Wisconsin. Terres was the lone Muskie to win an individual title and led the team to a second-place finish, and he also is Lakeland's first-ever NWA champion at 184 lbs.

Gordon is honored after finishing sixth in the triple jump to lead the Lakeland men's and women's track & field teams at the Northern Athletics Conference Indoor Championships. She supplied the lone scoring finish for the Muskies on the day, taking sixth in the women's triple jump with a mark of 33 feet, one inch. Gordon also posted the other top 15 finish for the women, placing 15th in the preliminaries in the 55-meter dash with a time of 8.09 seconds.
