Lakeland College has unveiled plans for its new main entrance and two outdoor plazas. The projects are set to be completed in time for the All-College Reunion (June 21-24, 2012), the keynote event of Lakeland's Sesquicentennial Celebration. This will be a time to celebrate the strides the college has made since its beginnings as Mission House in 1862 and look forward to the next 150 years of excellence for this place we call home.

The proposed plazas create opportunities for students and faculty to re-connect and enjoy Lakeland's beautiful setting. College alumni, alumni-parents and friends can make these plazas extra special by purchasing a limited number of personalized pavers and bricks as part of the Sesquicentennial campaign.

The new main entrance will create a dramatic front door for the campus and will prominently feature Old Main. "We've hidden Old Main, the building that identifies this as a college, the building to which all of our alumni can relate to and identify with," said Lakeland president Stephen Gould.

A related enhancement to Old Main and the new entrance will be the Sesquicentennial Plaza. Located on the east side of Old Main, this area will serve as a focal point and outdoor meeting space, and will feature personalized pavers that are available in two sizes.

In the heart of the campus will be Alumni Plaza. This expanded area east of the Laun Center serves as a hub between several of the college's academic buildings, and will feature personalized bricks.

Pavers and bricks can be imprinted with your name and class year, the name of a special group or team, a dedication to someone special or a message stating your affiliation with the college. Click here to see a video animation of the new front entrance and get information on the various cost options for pavers and brick. Then, join the other 100-plus alumni who have already signed on to leave their mark. The number available for pavers and bricks is limited, so don't delay. Leave your mark today!
