Alumni Awards

The Lakeland College Alumni Association honors alumni and others with annual awards during Lakeland's Fall Homecoming festivities. Between one and three awards are given in the following categories:

The President's Richard C. Preuhs `65 Award:
Criteria:

  1. Must be an alumnus of Lakeland College/Mission House.
  2. Must have been an employee of the College after graduation.
  3. Must have shown extraordinary commitment to the mission of the College.
  4. Must have noteworthy achievements in fostering student success, campus community or stewardship of campus resources


Professional Achievement:
Criteria:

  1. Be an alumnus of (Mission House) Lakeland College
  2. Have achieved national, state, or regional recognition for outstanding achievement in his/her profession.


Service to the College:Nominate an Alumnus
Criteria:

  1. Be an alumnus
  2. Have demonstrated excellent service to the college in at least two or more of the following:
    1. student recruitment
    2. financial support
    3. leadership in the LCAA
    4. volunteer support of college programs
    5. administrative/teaching efforts as an employee of the college
    6. internships and/or job placement


Community and/or Civic Service:
Criteria:

  1. Be an alumnus of (Mission House) Lakeland College
  2. Performed outstanding service as a volunteer in their community and/or civic organizations.
  3. Be an individual that supports the Mission Statement of Lakeland College through his/her volunteer efforts.


Honorary Alumni:
Criteria:

Perform service to Lakeland College, church, and or community, in two or more of the following areas:

  • leadership in voluntary organizations
  • sustaining financial support
  • contribution of special skills


Outstanding Faculty:
Criteria:

  1. Current full-time faculty members must have taught at Lakeland for five consecutive years.  Current part-time faculty members must have taught at Lakeland for eight consecutive years.
  2. Have received special recognition either through the college community (Underkofler Award, Fessler Professorship, etc.) or from outside organizations.
  3. Have shown concern for students over and above classroom duties through volunteer work with student organizations.


Student Alumni Ambassador:
Criteria:

  1. Be a current day or Kellett Student at Lakeland College.
  2. Has attained sophomore status or above.
  3. Student is academically strong.
  4. Student demonstrates strong support for Lakeland College programs and activities.
  5. Student demonstrates support for a better world through volunteerism.


Outstanding Recent Alumni:
Criteria:

  1. Be an alumnus of Lakeland College
  2. Graduated within the last 10 years
  3. Has outstanding achievements in his/her profession
  4. Has remained connected to Lakeland College and assisted with college-related activities.
