Men Start LMC Play 3-1 with 66-51 Victory Over Marian College

The Lakeland men's basketball squad found themselves down early but rebounded from a five point deficit two and half minutes into the game to win 66-51 at Marian College on Saturday evening. Like the women's game earlier in the day, Lakeland scored 24 points off 22 turnovers and the bench outscored Marian's 27-5 to propel the Muskies to a 3-1 Lake Michigan Conference start.
Freshman Matt Rogers led the team with 19 points, while senior Germayne James scored 17. Sophomore Danny Ehnert grabbed six boards on the evening.
The Muskies shot 45 percent from the field in the first half and 42 percent for the game. Marian struggled in the first half only shooting 29 percent but rebounded in the second half to finish shooting 42 percent on the night.
Lakeland, 6-2 overall, will host Concordia River Forest on Saturday, Dec. 17.
