Muskies Improve to 6-1 in LMC Play with 77-60 Victory at Concordia

The Lakeland Muskies improved to 6-1 in the Lake Michigan Conference with a 77-60 victory at Concordia on Saturday evening. A 14-1 run that started with 13:42 remaining in the second half helped propel Lakeland past Concordia.

Senior Germayne James led Lakeland with 18 points, six boards, three steals, two blocks and an assist on the evening. Sophomores Kris Saiberlich and Aaron Regal each added 10 points on the night.

Although Lakeland held a 32-31 lead at the half they struggled shooting just 38 percent. The Muskies became hot in the second half shooting 15-24 for 63 percent, while their defense held Concordia to 24 percent shooting in the second frame.

Lakeland, 12-4 overall, will host Marian on Tuesday Jan. 17 at 7:00 p.m. The two teams met earlier in the season at Marian with Lakeland winning 66-51.
