Lakeland Defeats Alverno 55-34

Lakeland had four players score in double figures en route to a 55-34 victory over Alverno this afternoon.

Seniors Kristi Thill and Beth Porter, along with sophomore Jenna Boehm each scored 12 points to lead the Muskies. Boehm also recorded a double-double as she pulled down 10 boards during the contest. Junior Amanda Thielmann chipped in with 11 points.

Lakeland shot 40 percent from the field for the game, while holding Alverno to 32 percent shooting. The Muskie defense also held all of Alverno's players to single digits.

With the victory the Muskies improved to 16-6 overall and 11-2 in Lake Michigan Conference play. Edgewood lost their game against Concordia 72-70 earlier today which gave the Muskies sole possession of first place. The Muskies host Edgewood on Wednesday, Feb. 8th at 7:00 p.m.
