Muskies dominate Concordia behind Paulson and Langenhorst
Athletics - posted on 12/7/2004
Despite poor shooting and a slow first half start, the Muskies turned it up in the second half, hitting fifty percent of their shots down the stretch to defeat the Falcons of Concordia Mequon by a final score of 59-39.
The Muskies jumped out to the early 2-0 start to begin the game and would never relinquish it. Concordia would answer, but the Falcons would get no closer. The Muskies built a 10 point lead at the 11:12 mark of the first half, but would falter down the stretch, allowing the Falcons to cut the lead to only three at the half, 22-19.
In the second half it was all Muskies, especially Sara Langenhorst. Langenhorst scored all 14 of her points in the second half, 11 straight for the Muskies early in the second half. Brenda Paulson added to the Muskie second half domination, on her way to scoring a season high 16 points.
Renee Steinert would tally eight points and nine rebounds for the Muskies and Kristi Thill would add nine points and seven rebounds in the winning effort. Langenhorst added four rebounds and four assists to her 14 points and Paulson had seven rebounds along with her 16 points.
The Muskies will next tip-off at home against Edgewood College on December 11th. Game time is set for 1pm.
